The loving Creator intended marriage to be a "help-mate" arrangement, in other words, an unending blessing, a union of two lives where fornication, adultery, abortion, or prostitution simply cannot exist.. But the brutal facts are that these things flourish in our modern world. Why, oh why, must this be so? "An enemy hath done this", sowing tares in the good garden the Lord planted (Matthew 13:28). By corrupting and poisoning male-female relationships, Satan has succeeded in making life nearly a hell on earth for millions of men and women.
Consider the usual pregnant, unmarried girls and the torture that millions have gone through:
1. the girl's shame before family and friends kills her inner sense of self-respect and dwarfs her person-hood for life;
2. her education is always handicapped even if by a miracle she later can resume it partially
3. she must endure pregnancy and its attendant burdens without the help God intended her to have-a loving, sustaining husband, and the admiring, congratulating support of happy relatives and friends;
4. even if she marries the father of her child, the beautiful happiness God intended is crippled by a sense of guilt and loss of respect for the man who made her pregnant (though this depends a lot)
5. Her inability to rear the child in an ideal situation of parenthood leaves a life-long nagging sense of failure, because she never knows the joy of motherhood as God intended-that her child should truly revere and respect both parents forever
6. in too many instances she is deprived of marriage and feels she must turn to prostitution in order to support herself and child.
How else can her life be described except in terms of slow murder and suicide or at best, slavery? what is the difference between murdering a person when her life is half over, or depriving her of half (or more) of her real life while she still struggles for existence? And don't forget, the man who made her pregnant won't get off easily. Not all punishment is reserved for a hell after one dies. If he runs away and leaves the girl to care for the child, he cannot repress an inner guilt. Whenever he hears of a homeless waif in trouble with the police, he will wonder if it might be his child. He can't forget, even if he tries. Even drowning himself in liquor won't help. And his Mercedes-Benz won't make him happy either. There are animals that are famous for their devotion to one mate and their offspring, such as the Canadian timber wolf; and the African Hornbill bird that makes its nest in the Baobad tree faithfully cares for his mate all through the long time she is hatching and rearing the young ones. Is man lower than animals?
Thus one can see both God and the devil at work all around one: God's existence is seen by the yearnings for true love that are natural to every human heart and the occasional fulfillment of those yearnings in a good marriage. The devil's existence can be seen by the almost endless misery that wrong sexual relationships produce. It is safe to say that most of the heart-sorrow in this world is the fruit of wrong sex in one way or another. And much of the true happiness in the world comes, under God, from the right exercise of human sex.
Even nations become string and prosperous, or weak and poverty-stricken, according to how the people enjoy male-female happiness in harmony with our Creator's plan. A senior District Judge in the United States, Luther Youngdahl, lamented the breakdown of sexual morality, saying, "There is an ominous similarity to the disintegration of the family when Rome declined." Indeed, when great nations have lost sight of true sexual morality, they have always gone down the drain. No Sodom and Gomorrah can survive very long. Satan wants to destroy the prosperity of the Third World nations through this tried and proven method f inner defeat. He is already succeeding in the west, if there were somewhere a nation living truly according to God's plan for sexual fidelity, it would be respected by the entire planet and become the acknowledged leader of human progress everywhere. Is there any nation in the world ready to fill this vacant place of leadership? All over Africa, thoughtful people deplore bribes and corruption. What is the root of this corruption? Disobedience to the law of God, the same source as of sex corruption.
Right human sexuality is a product of a right relationship with our creator who is also our savior.
